Workshop to Examine Privilege, Power, Oppression
Social justice educator will offer attendees a journey of self-discovery and pathways to action

An interactive workshop on awareness of power, privilege and oppression will be presented at the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Newbury Park on Sunday, June 3 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Chris Crass, a social justice educator, will use stories from his own experiences as a white person coming into consciousness about racism and a man gaining awareness about sexism to take people on a journey of self-discovery and pathways to action.
Crass is founder of the Catalyst Project, an anti-racist social movement, and he helped launch Showing Up for Social Justice, a national network to mobilize white people to join a broad coalition against racism. He is the author of "Towards Collective Liberation" and "Other America: Anti-Racist Resources for White People Taking Action for Black Lives Matter."
