My daughter, Chandler, recently earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, which is the highest award a Girl Scout can achieve. For her project, she developed Support & Soothe resource boxes to be given to children in OUSD schools. She worked with a graphics company to develop the boxes and a psychologist to create an eight-page directory of available therapists in the East Bay who work with children and teens. In the boxes, she included items such as fidget spinners, sensory stickers, putty, fidget cubes and more to help kids self-soothe while at school. Chandler used her own experience with anxiety to develop something that helps kids and their parents.
What three words best describe your star student?
Resilient, motivator, go-getter.
