• Free Alameda Water Shuttle Remains Suspended. Here's When It Could Return (patch.com) — Alameda's free Woodstock water shuttle between Alameda Landing and Jack London Square is still out of service while welders fix a cracked bracket discovered after recent engine replacements. City officials expect Coast Guard approval and a return to service later this week, and they're urging riders to use the SF Bay Ferry's Alameda Short Hop or AC Transit Line 96 in the meantime.
   

• A Massive New Oakland Mural Inspires Lasting Friendships and New Life Callings (kqed.org) — A new student-painted mural in Oakland prominently features the College of Alameda cougar alongside other Peralta college mascots, celebrating the role of community colleges across the East Bay. The story follows Laney College's mural class as students from diverse backgrounds build friendships, highlight cultural histories, and respond to recent budget cuts and a new parcel tax supporting the Peralta district.
