Cool Family Fun! Hot Jazz and Blues! *FREE* Cool Summer Jazz Saturdays at the San Ramon Library continues with saxophonist extraordinaire Charles McNeal on Saturday, August 15th. 
The Charles McNeil and Friends quartet include: Charles McNeal, alto sax, Joe Warner, keys, Ron Belcher, bass and Deszon Claiborne, drums. 
Nationally-known Charles McNeal has been booked for such prestigious events as the Monterey and San Francisco Jazz Festivals. He is best known for the provision of many saxophone transcriptions and educational materials.&nbsp; 
The hour-long performance will be in the upstairs community room at the Library starting at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
The concert is free to the public, but seats fill up fast so get there! 
This concert is supported by the San Ramon Library Foundation and Jazz in the Neighborhood (JITN).

St. Paul's Concert Series is back from its summer break, and we are absolutely delighted to kick off our Fall concert season with pianist Mira Armij Gill, with special guest violinist Francisco Salazar in a delightful performance on Saturday, August 29 at 7:00pm. Known for her spectacular poetic and inspiring performances around the world, Ms. Gill brings absolute magic to the stage. Inspired by her recently-released album Piano Works of Samuel Barber, the concert will highlight Barber’s Nocturne Op. 33; Excursions Op. 20; and Sonata, Op. 26 as well as his Canzone Op. 38 for Violin and Piano, featuring Salazar on violin. When performed recently at Carnagie Hall in New York, praise abounded of Gill’s Barber Nocturne, which “held truly inspired moments, ending with the trill that was absolutely transporting.” Also noted was the "moving rendition of Barber's achingly beautiful Canzone by Ms. Gill with her husband Francisco Salazar." This spectacular duo will also include duets by Gershwin, De Falla, Di Martino, Gliere, Beach and Kreisler to name a few. Join us at 1924 Trinity Avenue, Walnut Creek. No tickets necessary. Experience the artistic swimming talent of the Aquanuts as they highlight the most iconic shows and places in Vegas!
This year will mark the 57th anniversary of this iconic show that showcases artistic (synchronized) swimming in a theatrical format complete with lights, props, a monumental 3-D stage, and glittering costumes. Doors open at 7:00 pm, and the performance begins at 8:00 pm each night Thursday-Sunday over Labor Day weekend. Food and refreshments are available for purchase at a general snack bar and there will be a beer/wine bar. Online tickets are good for any of the 4 nights!

Families across the Bay Area are invited to discover the many paths available after high school at the West Coast ALT Fair, returning to Lafayette on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
Hosted by Prepare to Bloom, the ALT Fair is a free community event designed to introduce students, parents, educators, therapists, and counselors to the growing number of post-secondary options beyond the traditional four-year college experience. The event will take place from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at the Lafayette Public Library's Don Tatzin Community Hall.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with representatives from a wide range of organizations, including:
<ul><li>Gap year and wellness programs</li><li>Young adult transitional living programs</li><li>College support and executive functioning programs</li><li>Vocational and career training organizations</li><li>Therapeutic and specialized post-secondary supports</li><li>Apprenticeship and experiential learning opportunities</li></ul>
Rather than sitting through presentations, families can browse at their own pace, ask questions, compare programs, and have meaningful conversations with professionals who specialize in helping young adults find the right next step.
"The goal of the ALT Fair has always been to help families realize they have more options than they may have been told," said Shayna Abraham, founder of Prepare to Bloom. "Every student deserves a path that fits who they are, not just the path that's most familiar."
The event is designed for:
<ul><li>Parents of high school, and young adult students</li><li>High school students and recent graduates</li><li>Young adults exploring next steps</li><li>Therapists, educational consultants, and school and college counselors</li><li>Anyone interested in learning more about nontraditional post-secondary opportunities</li></ul>
Admission is free, though advance registration is encouraged.
The ALT Fair will be followed by a professional networking day on Friday, September 25, bringing together referring professionals and program representatives from across the country to strengthen collaboration and improve access to resources for families.
