• Property owners can apply for earthquake retrofit grant funding under state initiative (smmirror.com) — Albany apartment owners with 5–10 unit soft-story buildings can now apply for state grants covering up to 70% of required earthquake retrofit costs, but only until September 30, 2026. The program, part of California's Earthquake Multi-Unit Retrofit initiative, helps eligible owners pay for engineering, permits, and construction, with awards capped per unit and per building.
