Aliso Lacrosse Ends Season on High Note

Aliso Niguel men's lacrosse finishes their season with a 14-6 victory.

Aliso Niguel men’s lacrosse ended their season on a high note with a 14-6 victory over the Trabuco Hills Mustangs at Wolverine Stadium Thursday night.

Aliso Niguel had a big crowd in attendance for senior night.  Before the game seniors Ryan Dale, Ryan Wing, Nolan Werner, Nick Rad, Noah Keen, Idean Roohani, Chris Carmody, Kevin Cracchiolo and Sammy Nabahani were all honored and each of their mothers received a rose.  After the ceremony the game began.

Midfielder Ryan Wing won every faceoff in the first quarter and the Wolverines jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the end of the first.  The Wolverines continued to dominate in the second quarter.  Captain Nolan Werner put up two goals and Aliso went into the half with a 7-1 lead.

Mustang midfielders Cody Driver and Blake Lucas both put up early goals in the second half to narrow the Wolverine lead down to four.  Ryan Dale fed Michael Traub for a nice goal to end the Mustangs run and extend the lead back to five.  At the end of the quarter sophomore midfielder James Murphy picked up a ground ball and threw a beautiful cross-field pass to Traub who put it in for a goal as the crowd erupted.

In the fourth, Trabuco attackman Justin Witkin put up two consecutive goals.  It was too late though and Aliso Coach Pat Jenkins put in all the seniors.  Nolan Werner fed Nick Rad for a nice goal that brought the Wolverine fans to their feet.  The Wolverine defense and goalie Firas Abdeen were solid throughout the game and remained strong in the fourth quarter.  Aliso ran out the clock and ended their season with a 14-6 win over the Mustangs.
