Aliso Lacrosse Wins League Opener

Aliso Niguel Men's Lacrosse wins first league game over Trabuco Hills 11-10.

Aliso Niguel Men’s Lacrosse began Sea View League play with a 11-10 win over Trabuco Hills Tuesday at Trabuco High.

The win didn’t come easy though because Trabuco jumped out with a 2-0 lead just two minutes into the game.  Coach Pat Jenkins called a timeout to calm the team down and the Wolverines bounced back with a couple of quick goals.

Trabuco midfielder Cody Driver had three goals in the first quarter.  Aliso shutout the Mustangs in the second quarter and put up three goals of their own to go into halftime tied 5-5.

The Wolverines jumped on Trabuco early in the third quarter as Michael Traub fed Chris Carmody for a goal to take the lead 30 seconds into the half.  Aliso goalie Firas Abdeen was a brick wall in the second and third quarter allowing just one goal despite Trabuco cranking plenty of shots.  Trabuco and Aliso were within one goal of each other throughout the entire fourth quarter.  Nathan Smith and Ryan Dale scored in the fourth to finish the Mustangs off to get a big league victory.

Aliso Niguel (4-3, 1-0) will play the Laguna Hills Hawks on Thursday at Wolverine Stadium at 5:30 p.m.  Trabuco Hills (1-4, 0-1) will play at Capo Valley on Thursday.
