ANHS Presents 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead'

Humor abounds in this play, which focuses on two characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Comedy is alive and well at the Drama Department.

The troupe of talented students will be presenting the play "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead," Dec. 7-10. For the price of a movie ticket you can support your local dramatic and technical talent and chuckle at the humorous banter between characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet.

ANHS drama instructor Jeremy Golden has been spending a lot of time with the students preparing for opening night.

"This [play] is something that [people] might not have seen before," said Golden. "This is the other side of Shakespeare, of Hamlet. Minor characters have the spotlight for the first time. It's new and exciting and it's a funny Hamlet."

Light operator Chaz Szafirski and sound operator Yasmine El-Tayeb were at dress rehearsal on Monday making sure everything went smoothly.

El-Tayeb said, "It's a really funny play. And it's actually exciting and interesting."

"[The play] has a great cast," said Szafirski, "and the crew is amazing as well."

Tickets are $12 for general admission and students without ASB, $10 for seniors (65+) and students with ASB. Performances begin at 7 p.m. in the ANHS Theater.
