Aliso Niguel Shelters In Place Due To Suspicious Item

A suspicious item caused the Aliso Niguel High School to shelter in place Wednesday.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — If you see something, say something. In Aliso Viejo, the Aliso Niguel High School was put on alert, and told to shelter in place Wednesday afternoon due to a suspicious item.

"The school returned back to normal procedures as of 10 a.m.," Aliso Viejo Police Services said.

It was not reported what the item was, or where the item was located.

Parents were receiving text messages from children on campus, as of 11 a.m., concerned for the well-being of their students. The announcement about the sheltering in place was not released until the event was over, though parents noticed a police presence around the school.

"It's scary to find out through the rumor mill, but thank you for keeping our kids safe," one mother said.
