Aliso Viejo Double Murder Suspect Arraigned Tuesday
An Aliso Viejo man suspected of the double murder of two, shooting of two others, was to be arraigned on Tuesday for the crimes.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — An Aliso Viejo man arrested Friday in the shooting death of his father and one other was charged on dual felony counts of murder and attempted murder. His arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
If convicted, Luke William Ferguson, a 26-year-old resident of Aliso Viejo and recently Venice, will have the minimum sentence of life in state prison without the possibility of parole, the OCDA's office said.
Ferguson was the suspect in a wide spread search after allegedly murdering his father, Douglas Ferguson, 59 and his father's girlfriend Lisa Cosenza, a 51-year-old resident of Aliso Viejo. Both were confirmed dead at the scene, according to a statement from Orange County Coroner's Office. Two men were also shot and critically wounded in the crime, and taken to area hospitals.

Ferguson had fled from the scene, and no weapon was found, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department information officers.
"Members of the OCSD followed multiple leads and worked with other Southern California law enforcement agencies and employed a variety of investigations tactics to swiftly take the suspect into custody," they said. The cross-SoCal search extended from Aliso Viejo to Venice Beach, to Ventura and then to Inglewood where Ferguson was discovered by Inglewood Police Department.

"Inglewood PD spotted the suspect driving at a high rate of speed," OCSD said. A traffic stop, and subsequent apprehention and arrest of Ferguson, he was taken into custody. A stolen vehicle and handgun were found at the scene where Ferguson was arrested.
"He was transported to OC Sheriff's Headquarters for questioning," OCSD said. Ferguson, who listed his occupation as a construction worker on jail records, is awaiting arraignment Tuesday. No bail has been set.
Ferguson has a previous felony conviction for stalking in 2012, in Los Angeles, according to the OCDA.
