Then armed agents show up at her door with a bullhorn (operationsports.com) — A woman living in Aliso Viejo has been federally indicted for allegedly embezzling more than $400,000 from the Aliso Niguel High School football booster club she once served as treasurer. Prosecutors say the money funded mortgage payments and personal expenses, and they plan to seek a substantial prison sentence as she heads to her first court appearance in Santa Ana.
   

• Woman Convicted In Hit And Run That Killed Pedestrian In Laguna Beach (patch.com) — A jury has convicted a 22-year-old woman in a fatal 2022 hit-and-run in Laguna Beach, a case that involved friends who had planned to head to a beach in Aliso Viejo for night swimming. Prosecutors said speeding and fleeing the scene led to a Costa Mesa man's death, while the defense disputed marijuana use and argued the crash circumstances were less clear-cut.
