Juan Jesus Martinez has been arrested on suspicion of possession of substances with intent to create a destructive/explosive device.

Orange County sheriff’s investigators responding to a domestic violence report found 40 weapons, most of them rifles, grenades and “precursors to explosives” in a Laguna Niguel home Monday.

Deputies went to the home at 25 Fairlane Road about 12:40 a.m. to handle a domestic violence report, Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

Juan Jesus Martinez, 56, was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and possession of substances with intent to create a destructive/explosive device, Hallock said. Martinez was being held on $500,000 bail.
