Documentary Screening: Ancestors in the Americas Part I and II

Coolies, Sailors, Settlers: Voyage to the New World tells the rich and trouble history of Asians and Americans over five centuries. The second documentary, Chinese in the Frontier West: An American Story, examines the exploitation and virtual enslavement of Asian workers in 19th-century America. 

A panel discussion will follow the screening of the two 62-minute documentaries.
