Promise Walk for Preeclampsia -- 3K

What if you could save a life by simply walking a 3K event? Would you?

Join us and help us raise awareness of preeclampsia, a disorder of pregnancy that takes the lives of 76,000 mothers and 500,000 babies each year.

This 8th annual walk is a fundraiser and awareness building event also being held in 30 cities across the U.S.

Funds raised will support innovative research, drive patient education, improve healthcare practices and raise crucial public awareness.

Preeclampsia is pregnancy-induced hypertension, a disorder that occurs during pregnancy and affects both the mother and unborn baby. It's a rapidly progressive condition characterized by elavated blood pressure and protein in the urine. The cause is still not fully understood and the only cure begins with delivery. Preeclampsia affects 1 out of every 12 pregnant women, and is responsible for approximately 18 percent of all maternal deaths.
