Family Seeks Help Finding Missing Man

Police and the family of an 85-year-old retired marine missing since Sunday are asking for help finding him.

Orange County sheriff’s investigators today asked for the public’s help finding a missing 85-year-old retired U.S. Marine.

David Coleman Moog last spoke with his family about 11:45 a.m. Sunday when he called them to say he planned to stay at his Mission Viejo home for the rest of the day.

When family members could not reach him again the rest of the day they went to his home to check on him, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock. Moog and his car were gone and no one has been able to contact him since, Hallock said.

The family considers his disappearance “very uncharacteristic,” Hallock said.
