Firefighters Rescue Worker Pinned Under Truck
A man in his 20s is recovering after being pinned underneath his utility truck in San Juan Capistrano for nearly an hour.
A man in his 20s suffered moderate injuries today when he was pinned under a utility truck he was working on in the gravel driveway of a San Juan Capistrano home, authorities said.
The man was working underneath the SUV in the 31400 block of Paseo Christina about 4 p.m. when it rolled, pinning one of his hips under the vehicle’s dual tires, said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority.
Fifteen firefighters, including personnel from the Urban Search and Rescue squad out of Mission Viejo, responded and used wooden blocks and air bags to lift the vehicle off the man, who was freed after about 40 minutes and taken to a hospital, Concialdi said.

The driveway was on a slight slope, Concialdi said.
Concialdi reminded anyone intending to work underneath a raised vehicle to secure the tires with chocks so the vehicle cannot roll.
