Help save Aliso Viejo school! Wood Canyon Elementary at risk for school closure!

Wood Canyon Elementary is at risk for a school closure. Families, teachers, and staff request the help of the community.

Wood Canyon Elementary has been a respected elementary school in Aliso Viejo. It has been 20 years since its doors opened and it is not time for their doors to close now!

The school is threatened to be closed by the charter school, Community Roots Academy. Wood Canyon has been sharing its campus with the charter as a temporary solution until they could find a permanent location. But Wood Canyon is considered an option for their permanent campus!!

There are only 4 public elementary schools in Aliso Viejo (including Wood Canyon). If Wood Canyon were to close, there would be 450 students to be displaced. Where would they go? The other elementary schools are impacted. The surrounding communities also have schools at capacity. It does not make sense to take away another community school.
