Pedestrian Prompts Closure Of Aliso Viejo Freeway

ALISO VIEJO, CA -- A pedestrian wandering around on Interstate 5 forced a brief shutdown of 14 lanes of traffic south of the El Toro Y Sunday, the CHP said.

Both directions of the 5 Freeway south of the 405 merge were closed briefly at about 2:55 p.m. Southbound lanes were reopened in a few minutes, while northbound lanes lanes were closed about 20 minutes.

The incident was on the 5 Freeway south of El Toro Road. The pedestrian was taken into custody and was being evaluated.
