PelvicSanity Launch
Orange County's Premier Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Clinic Opens in Laguna Hills
PelvicSanity is excited to announce the opening of a new physical therapy clinic in Laguna Hills, specializing exclusively in pelvic health. The specialty is relatively rare – there are fewer than 300 board-certified PTs in the country in the field – but vitally important for millions of patients. We help patients with chronic pelvic pain, urinary dysfunction, post-natal symptoms, orthopedic pelvic pain (including low back, groin, and hip), and sexual dysfunction. Pelvic Dysfunction in Women
One of the major traumas to the pelvic region is childbirth, where up to 40% of women actually have torn muscles in their pelvic floor. The majority of women experience post-natal symptoms, including prolapse, incontinence, low back pain, diastasis recti, and painful intercourse. Amazingly, even with torn muscles within the pelvis, most women are told to ‘just give it more time’ or to ‘just Kegel.' Even a year after childbirth, women still struggle with:

These symptoms may be common after childbirth, but they are not normal. They often don’t resolve on their own, and can lead to a lifetime of pelvic pain and dysfunction if they aren’t addressed. In many other countries, pelvic physical therapy has been the standard of care for nearly 30 years, and we are finally beginning to catch up in the United States.
Pelvic Dysfunction in Men
Men are also affected by pelvic floor conditions, and PelvicSanity is one of the few clinics to have a focus on male patients, who make up about 30% of our patient population. Unexplained pelvic pain is the leading cause of visits to the urologist each year, and conditions like chronic prostatitis, pain with sexual activity, lingering hip or low back pain, and urinary urgency/hesitancy are also common among men.
“In just the first weeks we’ve been open, the response has been overwhelming,” says Dr. Nicole Cozean, founder. “There is such a huge need for pelvic physical therapy, and not enough qualified specialists out there. We’ve had patients coming in from Bakersfield, Ventura, San Diego – even Denmark!”

Nicole Cozean, DPT, PT, WCS, is the founder of PelvicSanity, a specialty physical therapy clinic that focuses solely on pelvic pain and dysfunction. Prior to founding PelvicSanity, Nicole launched and headed the pelvic PT program at Hoag Hospital and served as Clinical Director at Sarton PT. Dr. Nicole is also the author of the acclaimed patient guide The Interstitial Cystitis Solution, the first PT elected to the ICA Board of Directors, and one of fewer than 300 board-certified physical therapists in pelvic health.
