Court Date Delayed in Wild Carjack Case

James Christopher Corr allegedly hijacked an SUV with a toddler and dog in the backseat then ran over the mother's foot and crashed into a tree.

The pretrial hearing of James Christopher Corr has been delayed to Oct. 19, but his trial is still set to begin Dec. 4. The pretrial had been .

The 34-year-old resident of Mission Viejo is accused of breaking into a vehicle in front of a business in Aliso Viejo on Oct. 15, stealing a victim’s purse, then running into a nearby neighborhood, carjacking an SUV with a toddler and dog in the back seat, running over the mother’s foot as he fled the scene and crashing the vehicle into a tree.

Corr is charged with one count each of kidnapping during a carjacking, child abuse, child stealing, second-degree vehicle burglary, first-degree robbery, aggravated assault, hit-and-run with injury and vandalism, as well as two counts of first-degree residential burglary.

If convicted, Corr could get life in prison.
