St. Mary's Still Closed after Email Threat

The private K-8 school in Aliso Viejo serves 800 children.

A private elementary and middle school in Aliso Viejo remained shuttered for the second straight day today because of what authorities described as a “potentially threatening” email.

The school is St. Mary & All Angels School, which serves some 800 children -- kindergarten through 8th grade.

On Monday, the school “received a potentially threatening email that created concern regarding the safety of the school,” said sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Officials continued to withhold details regarding the email in order, they said, not to compromise the investigation.

The school was first closed down Tuesday. Administrators were expected to announce later today when classes will resume.
