Suspected Car Thief Leads Police North, South then North Again on the 5 Freeway

The driver of a stolen vehicle who led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase north, south and then north again on the San Diego (5) Freeway was in custody early today.

The stolen vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Armada, was spun and stopped by a California Highway Patrol officer who used his vehicle to perform a PIT maneuver in a construction area near the Camino de Estrella exit, CHP Sgt. Tim Hall said.
