VIDEO: Boy Scouts Properly Destroy Flags During Retirement Ceremony
Ceremony officially retires worn and damaged flags.
In honor of National Flag Day, Boy Scout Troop 700 of Aliso Viejo hosted its first official ceremony for retiring tattered American Flags yesterday evening.
According to the United States Flag Code, "The Flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferable by burning."
