Impulse Dancers Showcase Talent
Impulse Dance Center performs their fifth annual Winter Showcase.
Impulse Dance Center performed their fifth annual Winter Showcase Saturday in the performance center of Kingsfield Church in Aliso Viejo.
Dancers, ranging in age from 2-17 years old, expressed themselves through a variety of dance styles, including tap and ballet. Performing for a packed house of approximately 250 friends and family, the dancers revealed their routines after more than two months of rehearsals.
“They were great! I’m really proud of them all,” said Alexa Beebe, Impulse Dance’s new owner.

The Winter Showcase is designed to give the dancers confidence and exposure to performing in front of a crowd before the studio’s Gala event, which typically draws a larger crowd.
Though this was the fifth Winter Showcase for Impulse Dance Center, it was Beebe’s first time as the show’s producer. Beebe, an instructor at Impulse Dance Center since 2008, purchased the studio in November of last year.

“She (the previous owner) was having a baby and wanted to devote her full time to being a mom, which is great," Beebe said. "I’m just happy to continue working with my students here.”
Beebe not only choreographed and produced the show, she also performed along side some of the studio's youngest dancers. Beebe supported the pre-school aged dancers from left center stage during their routines, which helped center and focus them during the public performance.
“It was good. Me and Brooklyn want to dance again soon,” said 4-year-old Aubri McClanahan who performed with her sister, Brooklyn McClanahan and others to the song, "Animal Crackers in My Soup" — a song made famous by Shirley Temple in the 1935 film, "Curly Top."
Wilma McClanahan, mother of Aubri and Brooklyn was especially proud of her girls’ performance.
“It was awesome. I loved it. The girls were really, really excited about tonight,” said Wilma.
Now that the Winter Showcase has come and gone, Alexa Beebe and all of the dancers of Impulse Dance Center will begin preparation for the studio’s Gala event, which will be held at the Irvine Jewish Community Center on June 10.
