1. Cozy Crafters Club

Grab your knitting needles or the glue gun and sparkles and head to the tea house for a few relaxing hours of crafting. If you have put aside your craft projects far too long, now you can hang out with other crafters and get the work done, while having some fun. There will also be a supply basket on hand if you need materials.

2. Saved by a Story: Altadena Wildfire Survivor Writing Group

When: April 8, 2 - 3:30 p.m.

Where: Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr.

Writing can be cathartic and this program offers participants an opportunity to write stories about what was lost, found and overcome after the wildfire. Grab a favorite pen and a notebook and bring your creativity for this session.

3. Pasadena Chalk Festival

When: June 20 - 21, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Where: The Paseo, 300 E. Colorado Ave., Pasadena

Chalk it up to creativity because this annual event draws (no pun intended) hundreds of skilled artists, who create masterpieces using chalk. The event includes 200 large murals completed by over 500 artists. Not only will there be art, but there will be a beer garden, a DJ and concessions.

4. Pasadena Farmers’ Market - Victory Park

When: Saturdays, 8 a.m. - noon

Where: 2900 block of North Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena

Enjoy a relaxing vibe at the farmers market. Grab a tote bag and prepare to find the freshest local fruits and vegetables as you support local growers. This market is certified, which means that every item the growers sell, they actually grow themselves.

5. Reiki, Yin Yoga & Sound Therapy

When: May 17, 11 - 1 p.m.

Where: Brand Park, 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale

This immersive experience is a chance to let things go and just relax. Enjoy a healing journey that will incorporate Reiki, Yin Yoga and sound bath therapy. The program is held within the Shoseian Tea House, which is sure to be calming and restorative.

6. Verdugo Mountains 10k

When: May 3

Where: Brand Park, 1601 W. Mountain St.

Grab the running shoes and head to Brand Park for this 6.2 mile run that offers scenic views of the L.A. Basin, the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean. Not sure you want to run, hikers are also welcome to participate and enjoy the breathtaking views.
