Altadena Public Library: Extension Of December Building Closure

PLEASE NOTE: Following guidance from Public Health officials, the Altadena Libraries are temporarily limiting all staff and public access to the Altadena Library buildings starting December 7 through at least January 10, 2021. Thank you for your support as we do our part to limit the spread of COVID-19!

Outdoor book returns at both libraries will be closed as of December 9. Due dates of all materials currently checked out have been extended until at least January 10. All digital library services and phone assistance will continue to be available during this time.

While our physical spaces and curbside services will not be available, all digital library services and phone assistance will continue to be available during this time! Staying safe at home doesn’t have to mean bored at home when you have an Altadena Library card! (Don’t have a card? No worries – you can sign up for a temporary digital card to get access to all our online offerings!)

• cloudLibrary: Enjoy access to our free cloud-based app that gives you access to over 140,000 ebooks and audiobooks, available on most devices!
• hoopla: hoopla is a groundbreaking digital media service offered by your local library that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV! With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later.
• Flipster: No need to risk the long lines at the grocery store to get your favorite magazines when Flipster has digital versions of the latest publications online or in the Flipster app!
• enki: Indulge your curiosity with enki Library, an open source eBook Network that gives you access to even more eBooks outside of the Altadena Library District’s online collection (Don’t have a library card? enki has partnered with Bibliolabs to provide free ebooks to everyone in California – no holds, no card required!)
