Officials say standing homes in Altadena show unsafe levels of toxins like lead and asbestos, and the probe could lead to higher payouts that finally jump-start stalled rebuilding.
   

• More Than Extra Space: As Altadena rebuilds, homeowners look to ADUs (pasadenaweekly.com) — Altadena homeowners rebuilding after the Eaton Fire are increasingly adding accessory dwelling units (ADUs) as they reconstruct, aiming for rental income, flexibility, and future security. Local builder Genesis Builders reports nearly two‑thirds of its Altadena fire-recovery clients are including ADUs, taking advantage of lower costs when built alongside their new primary homes.
   

• Pasadena Police Arrest Hammer-Wielding Robbery Suspect (pasadenanow.com) — Pasadena police arrested a 47-year-old Altadena man suspected of robbing a Laverne resident of his e-bike at hammerpoint near Cordova Street and Hudson Avenue. Officers quickly detained the suspect, recovered the bike and weapon, and reported no injuries, while asking anyone with information to contact Pasadena Police or Crime Stoppers.
