A Resource for Pets Lost and Found
A private effort by a Baldwin Park Animal Care Center volunteer (and that's Altadena's shelter, folks), this Facebook page is another place to check for lost friends -- and new ones.
Baldwin Park Shelter volunteer, Ric Browde, created a Facebook page to help connect and reconnect "local" pets with their owners. This is a private outreach effort, and not directly associated with the county's Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. The Home page tells adoption/rescue stories, mainly. If you click on the "Photos" icon, you'll find pictures/info on shelter pets, plus some postings for lost and found dogs and cats.
Of course, the first place to check for pets lost or adoptable in our area is the Baldwin Park Shelter. Yeah, I know, the shelter isn't even close to our town, but that's a long story and county decision.
Baldwin Park Shelter is what's known as a "high intake shelter," and how can it be otherwise, as, in addition to Altadena, it serves a whopping 37 other locations. So when looking for a friend, particularly a lost friend, we, all of us -- dogs, cats, and humans -- need all the help we can get.

(Dodger, the dog in the photo, is looking for a home. He's a party animal who loves other dogs and people. A corgi mix, Dodger is four on the floor, and at 25 pounds, will not eat you out of house and home. He's waiting for you at the Baldwin Park Shelter, #ID number: A4390558.)
