And Now a Word About the Word: Community
As new owners of Webster's Community Pharmacy, we want to share the news and excitement of our remodel, and plans for making this community landmark the place to be in Altadena.
As the proud new owner of Webster's Community Pharmacy, I've thought long and hard about the purpose and direction to take with this iconic, yet tired neighborhood drug store.
My half of the partnership with my husband, Michael the pharmacist, is to develop the branding and marketing of our new business endeavor. To keep the name Webster's or not keep the name; that was the question. While there have many changes to the core business in the last decade, it seemed like the Webster's name still evokes a sense of family, independence and at the base of it all: Community. There, I've said it again. I
n this era of big-box stores, chains and internet retail; there is little that a single-store can do to compete. In the coming weeks and months, I will be sharing about new opportunities and new plans for Webster's Community Pharmacy. With our long and creative history as owners of Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain, we come to Altadena with a purpose and a goal of bringing this business; rich in neighborhood history, back to its proper place in the community. And that is the word for today.
