Food Trucks, Family, Friends and Fries.

As new owners of Webster's Community Pharmacy, we want to share the news and excitement of our remodel, and plans for making this community landmark the place to be in Altadena.

This Friday night is the next Fancy Food Truck event at the Webster's Parking Lot.  We are now veterans of three successful months and I started thinking about what it all means.

When you put delicious  food together with hungry people, it's likely to cause happiness.  When happy people get together with other happy people, good conversations, laughter and camaraderie tend to develop.  People usually walk away feeling warm, fuzzy, full  and perhaps  hopeful that the world is not a such a bad place after all.  Hot and tasty garlic fries definitely add to this positive mood.

When we put out our banquet tables, cover them with festive tablecloths and light them with glowing lanterns, we hope that our local and not so local neighbors will use this atmosphere to enjoy spending time with each other.  Kibitzing with friends, family and acquaintances adds so much to this sense of community ( see last week's blogpost) and that is what warms my heart each month.  Sure, the food is always great but what is even greater is watching the smiles, laughter, hugs and energy that comes from a community getting together for a few hours of  fun.

My hope is that through these kinds of neighbor-to-neighbor events in Altadena, we will see more shared pride and less complaining about things that really aren't that important. Simple idea, maybe....but I'll always take seconds of that!

See you Friday night!
