How Hummingbird Feeders Work
I have three feeders at my home and I see about 5-6 different hummingbirds per feeder.

The real benefit of a hummingbird feeder isn’t food so they can eat. This is a common misconception. Hummingbirds eat small insects, ants, mosquitoes, aphids, gnats, midges, caterpillars, flying ants, weevils, small beetles, whiteflies and insect eggs and small spiders.
They use the nectar of a feeder or flowers to go get food. Hummingbirds have a lot of energy and fly quickly through the air.
I have found them to be friendly and curious birds and do communicate and everywhere they go.

Hummingbird feeders should be filled with water and sugar. I recommend ¼ cup of sugar to a pitcher of water. It is very important to clean the inside of the feeder. I use an old tooth brush so no mold will grow inside the feeder.
The feeder water will last about 10 days.

Your hummingbirds will let you know it is good or not because if they like it, you will see them and they will be around a lot. I hope your hummingbirds are as happy as mine.
