Japhena Says: To Be or Not To Be

Positivity should always be your attitude of choice.

I was in the grocery store this week, in our pleasant town of Altadena, and while maneuvering my shopping cart down the aisle, I came upon, what seemed to be, an abandoned cart full of items.  Just as I began to roll this unmanned obstruction out of my path, so I could pass by, the  voice of a kind female crouched low to the ground, searching for a product on a lower shelf said, ”Oh I’m sorry about leaving my cart in the aisle.”  My immediate response to her was, “No problem…I can get past anything.”

Then she said, “Now that’s a positive way to approach everything in life!” And I responded by saying, “Yes, it most definitely is!”

I  make a conscience effort to choose to be a positive individual even when the situation appears grim.  I’ve encountered  many  people, who have coaxed themselves into believing they are positive, yet when faced with a dilemma, however slight, their  disposition conveys something different.   And  their response usually includes  a  list of complaints and accusations  instead of a list of amenable solutions.

"A positive attitude is important, but it is only part of the story. Understanding how to surmount pain, doubt, and failure is a vital component in winning the game of life."--Chin Ning Chu

What type of individual have you chosen to be?
