Does Autoimmune start in the Gut?

New link to autoimmune disease

More and more naturopathic practitioners are certain that most autoimmune is caused by the overgrowth of the yeast bacteria AKA Candida. This is something that western medicine has not explored because they are so used to reaching for the RX pad and pushing the cortico steroids, cytotoxic meds, and pain killers. In fact most western practitioners advise against the holistic approach to healing disease. Holistic healing is not taught in medical school. And only herbal contraindications are taught briefly in medical school. But in order for doctors to be able to recommend natural medicine or herbs to patients, research must be done on their own. Then of course there is the theory that “big pharma” does not want us well because they love robbing our earnings. Western medicine is not the only option though, and sometimes western medicine can be practiced with naturopathic medicine.
Naturopathic practitioners are suggesting that autoimmune patients ask their medical teams to run a panel of test’s that mostly get over looked by western medicine when dealing with autoimmune. Some of these tests include Candida – IgG, IgA, and IgM, A-95 and E-95 food panel allergy test. Dr Nigma Talib ND (Naturopathic Doctor) believes that cure for disease begins in the gut. And through her extensive research and practices it has proven to be so. In her book “ Reverse The Signs Of Ageing” she explains in detail how a simple food allergy can wreak havoc on the body and show signs in the skin as well. And that once those foods are eliminated from the diet life becomes much more comfortable. Dr Nigma also explains what your body needs to fight off and prevent disease, as well as what promotes overall health. In her practice, she explores that there is much more than just what you put into your body to stay healthy and young, but it’s what you put in to maintain a proper balance. Another book with great references is The Autoimmune Solution: Prevent and Reverse the Full Spectrum of Inflammatory Symptoms and Diseases by DR Amy Myers MD. In her book she explores how prescription medicines such as antibiotics destroy non pathogenic bacteria, also known as good bacteria. Leaving an imbalance in the gut, promoting a candida infection. She also points out that medicines like cortico steroids can actually cause candida infections and promote them. Both of these books are certainly worth reading especially if you need guidance in healing your body. Some symptoms of candida that go overlooked are : Headaches, Migraines, Sluggishness, Foggy thinking, Achy joints, Exhaustion, Sugar cravings, Skin rash, Bloating, and the all tel tel, vaginal yeast infections and thrush. If you have any of these symptoms, which most are all way too familiar in autoimmune patients it is suggested that you seek the candida test.
