Emergency Beauty Heist

A quest for great skin.

Okay, so it’s understandable that not everyone can afford to spend their hard earned cash on top shelf luxury brand cosmetics, so I made it simple. I decided to get out of my beauty comfort zone and do a little investigating! Every day, fellow hard working girlfriends and clients of mine ask me what beauty products I can recommend for their lifestyle and budget, and I could honestly only recommend the products I use in my treatment room, on set, and for my personal use. I normally don’t go for drugstore brands for fear of the ingredients, adverse reactions, and sketchy quality makeup, but I was pleasantly surprised at what my small list of affordable beauty products had to offer! And you will be too!

In May, I went to a small town in Dover Oklahoma to visit a dear friend of mine to show her love and support for her new baby. I realized that I forgot to pack my skincare! Skin care is the most important part of any respectable estheticians beauty regiment, and my skin looked and felt like the oklahoma sand! So Of course I immediately needed to find the nearest Ulta, Macy’s, Sephora, Target, WHATEVER! But to my surprise there were no such stores around. The closest store was a K- mart and that was about 35 minutes away in another small town. It had to do. As we walked up and down the aisles, I saw a box that read “Healthy Skin”. Of course, I was interested but not yet sold. So, I immediately grabbed the box and continued reading “Anti- Wrinkle System”. So things are looking up for me! You see, when you reach a certain age, not to be discussed, you suddenly start becoming more concerned with age lines, wrinkles, sagging and just the over all aging process. I can’t speak for everyone else but lately this wrinkle worrying has become my obsession.

Kristi, my very pregnant friend I was visiting talked about what a great idea it would be to try it. After all, it had only been $21.19! For a moisturizer, eye cream and cleanser, this only meant that I’d be able to get more! So we bought the “rapid Wrinkle Repair” Night cream for $23.49.

We finally made it back to Kristi’s beautiful country home and I couldn’t wait to open the packaging after carefully reading everything of course! I would then begin my night time skin care routine with my new found goodies. First, I used the Fresh Foaming Cleanser, about a pump or two onto clean hands. It smelled really, really clean! Even though it didn’t come with a toner, which I normally use one to balance the PH of my skin, I was nonetheless pleased with its performance. I then used the Rapid Wrinkle Repair night cream as the day moisturizer has spf 30. My skin felt instantly hydrated, supple and smooth! I did use the eye cream as well. However, while still being great for hydration, the one in the kit isn’t a performance product. I continued to use this Anti Wrinkle system by Neutrogena for the rest of my trip to Oklahoma and well into my return home. That’s how much I like it. So, for all of my friends at an age we don’t speak of, here is my gift of cost friendly, anti aging recommendation! You can be sure to find this in Target, Wallmart, K- mart, Ulta, and other drugstores and grocery stores in the beauty aisle.
