Mandolin genius and singer/songwriter Tom Corbett has toured and recorded with some of the best musicians in the folk and roots world, including The Acousticats (Phil Salazar and Cyrus Clarke), John McEuen (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), the String Wizards, Jennifer Warnes, Vassar Clements, Laurie Lewis and John Sebastian. Tom also toured with Robin and Linda Williams from Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion.
In addition to being an in-demand sideman, Tom has recorded three of his own albums that feature many of his own compositions and a who’s who of great guest musicians. His songs were included in Peter Spirer’s feature film “Dunsmore,” and his current CD “Tonight I Ride” has been in the top 10 on the Euro-Americana chart (2011) for several months. He continues to tour as a sideman as well as with The Tom Corbett Band, playing concerts and festivals all over the world.
Tom will play his own songs to start the evening, and then join Border Radio for a few duets and some smokin’ hot mandolin playing with the band.

BorderRadio got their start in 1999 with singer/songwriter Kelly McCune and dobro/guitar player Mike Stromberg. They knew they wanted to combine the solid twang of Kelly’s Oklahoma roots and Mike’s soulful swing on guitar and dobro. They took their name and inspiration from the early outlaw border stations that blasted down-home music across the country back in the 1920s and 30s. Every kind of huckster, pitchman, preacher and would-be politician could be heard for thousands of miles away on these stations, and they played everything from Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family to The Light Crust Doughboys, Bob Wills, and the whole Western Swing sound. This is the Americana treasure trove of “happy sad music” that Border Radio plunders and celebrates.
Kelly’s original songs have gotten her to Kerrville, Texas, as a New Folk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival. The band has also showcased at SxSW in Austin and has been featured on bluegrass, folk, and Americana stations across the country. They have 4 CDs and are currently working on a new release due out in late 2011.

"Although [other] bands...introduced country/bluegrass to the mainstream, not many recent acts have followed that lead. Border Radio has that potential, and with their talent, material and personality they just might start a new trend." Aaron Ziolkowski, Music Connection
