International folk dancing is a fun and easy way to get exercise, make friends, and move to music so beautiful it will take your breath away. April's teaching is focused on beginners and starts promptly at 7:40 pm. Party and Maypole dance on April 26. Drop-ins are welcome at this ongoing class; just show up in comfortable shoes. Most folk dances are done holding hands in a line or circle. There are some couple dances, but you don't need to bring a partner.
All ages are welcome. Most of our members are in their 40s, 50s and 60s, although we have some younger and older ones too. We have dancers of all skill levels, so whether you are a beginner or experienced, you would be most welcome.
Beginning teaching starts promptly at 7:45 pm every Friday. A more difficult dance is taught around 8:30 pm. Following a short break at 9:00 pm for refreshments, we repeat the dances that were taught and then continue with programmed and requested dances until 11:00 pm.
