Janet Klein & Her Parlor Boys

The enchanting and effervescent chanteuse Janet Klein performs obscure, naughty and lovely tunes from the 1910’s, 20’s and 30’s.  Joined by her LA based band members, The Parlor Boys, you’ll be treated to spirited, soulful and inspired renditions of Tin Pan Alley, early hot Jazz, vaudeville & Yiddish novelty tunes, ragtime and other rare, sweet and rustic gems.

Janet and the Boys are the best at what they do! They’re unearthing, revivifying, rejuvenating, Vaudevillinating, whoopifying and bringing to life tunes so rare and surprising that they are off the map!  This is music that kept people up all night in speakeasies, barrelhouse saloons, dance halls and Vaudeville theatres by the millions.  These wonderfully robust tunes will set you jazzing for romance and hurly-burly speakeasy steppin’ out

Janet’s band THE PARLOR BOYS will include sensational musicians: John Reynolds best on the planet 1930’s style guitar and plectrum banjo whistling master, hobo bon vivant Marquis Howell who plays stand-up bass with an authentically inspired vintage panache, the ever entertaining Ian Whitcomb author, historian and British invader of pop music fame circa 1960’s. Tom Marion on guitar. and Jeremy Wakefield. All the gents in the group avidly collect old recordings from 78 rpm records and are immersed in the pursuit of capturing an authentic and adroit vintage sound by way their own personal and soulful musical style.
