Graphic: Gas Prices Rising in L.A. County

Altadena's prices have followed the same trend that is hitting the county, state and country as a whole.

Gas prices in Los Angeles County have been rising steadily for the last two months, according to figures compiled by the American Auto Association.

The figures show that, as of today, the average cost of a gallon of gas is just under $3.31, compared to $2.96 this time a year ago.

That is still well below the county's high point in 2008, when the average cost spiked to over $4.62 per gallon.

The declining demand for gasoline during the recession after that point led to plummeting prices.

According to the losangelesgasprices.com website, which allows users to upload the lowest gas prices in cities in the county, the Arco gas station at North Lake and New York Drive is selling gas at $3.29 per gallon, right in line with the average county cost.
