Tuning Into Your Heart's Guidance System

Listening to our hearts is often easier said than done.  It's one of those concepts that sounds good, but we're often perplexed by how to do it.  It proves to be quite challenging in our busy lifestyles because we have so much on our plates - our jobs, our families, our relationships, our cars, grocery shopping, the needs of our children, the needs of our partner, the needs of our bosses and the list goes on and on.  Often by the end of the day we're so overloaded and overstimulated because we've had to make mental decisions all day. This makes it very difficult to drop into our hearts and connect with it.

The best way to begin to connect with your heart center is to stop - take a deep breath - and focus on the beat of your own heart.  Allow the rhythm of your own heartbeat to guide you into a quiet space until all that you hear, feel and focus on is "thump-thump" "thump-thump."  After about one to two minutes of feeling and listening to your own heart beat visualize yourself laying down on a bed of leaves and  surrendering to the moment.  After a few minutes ask any question that's been on your mind, wait a moment, drop down into your heart and then literally ask your heart what the answer is.  The answer should be one that makes you feel a sense of joy and lightness (or relief) as well as one in which you exhale "Ahhhh."

This technique should help you bridge the gap between your mental center and your heart center.

Remember there are no mistakes when it comes to your soul's mission - success in life only requires that you're fully present in each moment.
