Watch: Margarita-Lapping Bear Luxuriates In Jacuzzi

ALTADENA, CA — Who doesn’t love a hot tub and a cold margarita? On Friday, an Altadena couple got a visit from an uninvited house guest: a black bear that luxuriated in their bubbling jacuzzi and lapped up their margaritas before settling down for lazy nap.

Mark Hough and his wife captured the reverse goldilocks on video after a close encounter with the animal drove them from their jacuzzi. Hough fled so quickly, he didn’t have time to grab his cold drink, much to the little black bear’s delight.

Hough had barely settled into his hot jacuzzi when he heard the sounds of snapping twigs. “So I got up, looked over in the bushes, and lo and behold there's a bear climbing up over my fence,” Hough told the Los Angeles Times.

Hough hustled inside and looked back to find the bear playing in the bubbling water. “He was playing, having a grand old time,” Hough said. That’s when the bear got thirsty and “walked right over to the margarita, knocked it over and lapped it,” added Hough.

The bear, which was likely to blame for multiple sightings called into the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Friday in the Altadena area, still wasn’t done taking advantage of Hough’s hospitality. Like a true goldilocks, the bear settled down for an hour-long nap in Hough’s tree.
