Weekend in Altadena
With the rain expected to continue all weekend, check out our list of indoor musical events happening this weekend, where you can take shelter from the storm and be entertained at the same time.

Well, the weather this weekend certainly is frightful, so here are plenty of delightful, indoor musical events for your enjoyment and relaxation during this hectic time of year. So bundle up, stay dry, kick up your heels, and treat yourself to a weekend packed with great live music performances.
- The John Muir High School Choir, Jazz Band, and Marching Band will to honor the life and talents of Jonathan De Guzman, a Muir student who recently passed away, in an event called "Winterfest 2010: A Tribute to Jonathan De Guzman."
- Also tonight Mercy & the Merkettes will a "Christmas Spirit" show at the Rancho Bar from 9 p.m. to midnight.
- Altadena Town Council member Allan Wasserman and his jazz ensemble will Saturday night at Pinnochio's Pizza, just south of the Altadena border. The ensemble includes 12 talented musicians playing a wide variety of instruments.
- The Altadena Ale House is hosting a French white and red Sunday evening, the perfect opportunity to relax, tie one on, and wind down from the week.
- The is hosting a musical performance every day this weekend, with John York singing songs from the legendary folk-rock band The Byrds. York was a former member of that band. Then on the veteran rock-instrumental masters Paul Johnson and Gil Orr of Duo Tones leave out the drums and bass and put the focus on their delightful dual-guitar interplay (both acoustic and electric), which lends fresh appeal to the surf-instro genre. Finally, at a , one of Los Angeles' premiere a Capella vocal groups, Renaissance, will take their audience on a nostalgic, musical journey, singing songs of joy, hope, love and redemption.
- Finally, if you do feel like braving the elements, the third is on Sunday, and for the third time, it looks like it will be a rainy event!
