Councilmembers will also weigh more funding for Prewett Water Park repairs, increase an investigative services contract for police oversight, adjust CalVIP violence-prevention grants, and approve a 3% COLA for Confidential Unit employees.
   

4. Brentwood, Orinda educators named Contra Costa Teachers of the Year (contracostaherald.com) — An Antioch Unified educator, Arielle Foley of Black Diamond Middle School, is among the 2026–27 District Teachers of the Year honored by Contra Costa County. 5. Contra Costa County High Schools earn top spots in 2026-27 U.S. News Rankings (contracostaherald.com) — Antioch families can celebrate Dozier-Libbey Medical High School, which ranked among California's top 250 high schools and earned a strong national placement in new U.S. News rankings. The report highlights several Contra Costa campuses for academic performance and college readiness, offering a useful benchmark for how local schools stack up statewide and nationally.
