• The Red Cross and Hello Kitty® and Friends join forces to help save lives (redcross.org) — Arcadia residents can give blood locally this September at The Shops at Santa Anita on Sept. 4 and the American Red Cross Arcadia Chapter on Sept. 14, earning a Hello Kitty-themed thank-you gift while supplies last. With regional supplies still vulnerable, the Red Cross is urging donors to book appointments now to help prevent shortages during a busy fall season.
   

• Two UCLA transfers named to Comeback Player of the Year watch list (usatoday.com) — An Arcadia, Calif. native, linebacker Ryan McCulloch, has been named to the 2026 Comeback Player of the Year watch list after battling injuries at Cal and transferring to UCLA. He joins fellow transfer Malik Hartford as both Bruins defenders look to revive their careers when the season kicks off Sept. 5 in Berkeley.
