• Arcadia mayor blasts campaign mailers alleging CCP ties; council weighs Wang vote inquiry (heysocal.com) — Arcadia's mayor forcefully denounced campaign mailers accusing him and Councilman Michael Cao of ties to the Chinese Communist Party, calling the claims ignorant and hurtful to Chinese Americans. At the same meeting, the council debated but ultimately declined a proposed inquiry into why former mayor Eileen Wang once changed her vote on a multimillion-dollar labor contract.
• Report: Jockey Jamie Spencer Now Based In California (bnd.com) — Arcadia racing fans will see a new regular face at Santa Anita, as champion Irish and British jockey Jamie Spencer relocates to California and lines up multiple mounts at the track this weekend. Fresh off major international wins, he plans to ride frequently at Santa Anita and Del Mar while testing the waters of the U.S. circuit.
