Apps

A piece written by Patricia Huff

There are windows within windows and they are everywhere. Press the search bar on your iPhone and another window opens with even more selections. Go ahead, press one of the apps and further into the window you go, for endless choices. You could literally spend hours searching and finding increasingly more selections, it never ends.

I thought about that at the Westfield mall today. I mean, it felt like one big cell phone with lots of endless apps within it. There were stores everywhere, upstairs, downstairs, not just stores but lots of restaurants, and tons of other apps.

There in the middle of the busy mall cluttered packed with people, pressing their cell phones as they walked, was a long row of tables with signs and displays. As I walked through the busy area several of the people at the tables told me they were from local businesses already here in Arcadia. One person said he represented a business that was soon to come to Arcadia.

Apps within apps, windows within windows, and I could really use some room. You know, some room. Space, some more open space. I can make good choices without all the apps. They just take up even more space. They clutter my phone and take up too much memory.

So, I made my way over to the Arboretum and walked around for a spell. There were apps here too but they cleared my head. Nature’s apps are becoming scarce, but there are still some of them left. They upgrade you and download more memory.
