Arcadia Area Wife-Stabber Convicted Of Attempted Murder
This man was convicted Wednesday of stabbing his wife over 30 times, DA's office said.

ARCADIA, CA — On Tuesday, a Monterey Park man was convicted of attempted stabbing murder of his wife.
According to charges, Kam Hing Wong, a 64-year-old, attacked his wife on March 31, 2016 while was in the shower. He repeatedly stabbed and slashed her with a variety of sharp objects as she tried to flee.
Jurors deliberated for less than a day before finding Kam Hing Wong, 64, guilty of the March 31, 2016, attack on his wife, who was slashed and stabbed 32 times.

The jury also found true allegations that Wong personally used scissors, a meat cleaver and a knife during the commission of the crime and that he inflicted great bodily injury on his spouse.
Wong attacked her with a pair of scissors while she was in the shower at their home, according to Deputy District Attorney Presciliano Duran.

She tried to fight off her husband, but he slashed and stabbed her with a meat cleaver and a knife as she ran through the home, the prosecutor said.
Wong's wife ran outside naked and bleeding, where a neighbor spotted her and called police, who arrested him in his backyard and summoned paramedics to take the victim to a hospital.
Wong is facing up to 15 years to life in state prison. He is due back in court June 8 for sentencing.
