Arcadia Fire Department September Calls
With a wide number of emergency calls during Sept. 16-22, 2018, here is a breakdown of your Fire Department's work in September.

ARCADIA, CA — What has your Arcadia Fire Department been up to lately? The majority of calls were rescue and medical emergencies, false alarm calls and service calls, good intent, hazardous conditions and fire.
According to the City of Arcadia's City Manager, Dominic Lazzaretto, here are the main calls from the second half of September, 2018.
Sunday, September 16th
At 3:58 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1200 block of North Oakglen Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a 75-year-old male in pain from a possible fractured hip. Paramedics provided basic life support measures on scene by stabilizing the hip. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.

Monday, September 17th
At 3:15 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 76-year-old male who had experienced a syncopal episode. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Tuesday, September 18th
At 6:50 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in the 100 block of West Sierra Madre Boulevard. Fire crews arrived to find a 77-year-old female with signs of having suffered a stroke. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, medications, and 12-lead cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.

Wednesday, September 19th
At 4:19 p.m., Truck 105 and Monrovia Paramedic Squad 101 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an elderly male feeling generalized weakness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Thursday, September 20th
At 7:20 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a person down at the intersection of North Santa Anita Avenue and Saint Joseph Street. Fire crews arrived to find a male patient lying on the ground in an altered level of consciousness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Friday, September 21st
At 11:05 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 25-year old female who had experienced a near syncopal episode. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including cardiac monitoring and blood glucose level monitoring. The patient refused further treatment and transport to a local hospital.
Saturday, September 22nd
At 9:54 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find an elderly female experiencing chest pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, administration of cardiac medications, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
