Man stole purses from business and fled in a truck.

UPDATED, 7:06 p.m.: Police are describing the robbery suspect as a white or Hispanic man, 20-25 years old, in dark clothing and a hat. He jumped into a waiting blue pickup truck with tinted windows.

The suspect pretended to be a customer at Boutique No. 5, then stole two Chanel purses, one black, one green, police said.

PREVIOUSLY: A man reportedly robbed a business Saturday afternoon and took off with two purses, police said.

The crime happened at Boutique No. 5, 733 West Naomi Avenue. The incident initially started as a theft, but police are investigating it as a robbery after the male suspect allegedly pushed a woman to the ground after she chased him outside, said Lieutenant Colleen Flores of Arcadia Police.

The robbery happened just after 5 p.m. The suspect may have fled into a waiting vehicle, only described as a truck, and was last seen driving eastbound.

No further information was available.
