Body Identified From Arcadia Flood Control Channel

A Temple City man was identified as the man discovered dead an Arcadia flood control channel.

ARCADIA, CA — A man whose body was found Thursday in an Arcadia flood control channel was identified Friday.

The body of 40-year-old Chun Yen Liu of Temple City was discovered in the Arcadia Wash near El Monte and Naomi avenues about 7:35 a.m. Thursday, according to the Arcadia Police Department.

The original 9-1-1 call stated that there was an injured person inside the wash.

"Officers arrived to find a deceased male inside the wash with an apparent head injury," Arcadia Chief of Police Robert Guthrie said. "It is unknown if the victim was injured in a fall into the wash, or not."

An autopsy was pending, Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.

"The investigation is continuing as to cause of death and we are not seeking any persons of interest at this time," Guthrie said.
