Body Worlds, an exhibit at the Science Center, is a display of human bodies through sickness and in wellness.
When I was in massage school one of my teachers told the class a story. Hundreds of years ago the town physician would administer massage, and herbs to the people and got paid very well to keep them healthy. The minute someone became sick he lost money. There was no more value to his work.
No one came to him to receive a massage because of continuous stress. In those days, there was no pain due to being overworked. There was a mindset, a harmonious belief system that kept not only society healthy but the individual as well.

Body World(s) is a reality in massage therapy that could use some brain work. Has the mind body connection been lost in touch? There are lessons to be learned in life, whatever transpires in the body simultaneously is transpiring in your lifestyle. That nagging pain in your lower back means something must give and it begins with your way of thinking. Massage is a tool to aid you in moving forward.
Sickness is sickness and wellness is wellness, and yet these two states of consciousness are intermixing, and where is your head? Nursing pain over and over is different from facing it, transforming it, and moving on. Let's be done with it. When something doesn’t change it plays over repeatedly like a record in your life until you get it, and when you do, only then can you finally break free.
